Warning: This is just a story I made because I was bored. Don’t take it seriously and say it would never happen.
Maul did not die on Tatooine. Though his anger toward Kenobi and the Jedi had smoldered and died, a new hate festered within him after being laid to rest by Obi Wan. A burning hate toward the one who set him on this path. The master who replaced-no, Betrayed him. He would suffer the same fate as Maul had for near 2 decades. Formerly Darth Maul would rise from the shallow grave the Jedi has made for him in the cracked, dry dust of the desert planet, and stumbled along, fueled by his emotions as he had years before. He found his double blades lightsaber next to his grave, broken in half. The crystal remained, a dark red. He gathered up the pieces, carefully so he wouldn’t further damage them. As he trudged along, he reflected on his past. He recognized the strength and weaknesses of both Jedi and Sith. The old warrior recalled a tale of some force wielders had been able to fortifying mend wounds. Mostly Jedi. As he walked, he reached out with the force on his own body, closing in on the cut down his chest. He willed it closed. It very slowly began to heal, but it took a small while until stopping all together. He was trying to pressure the force to heal him, like a Sith, he realized. He stopped walking, and sat. He took a meditative position and banished his negative feelings, only for a moment. Instead, he remembered the few happy moments he had. With this in mind, he nudged the force through his body, again, willing it to heal. He felt a slight numbness spread across his body, ceasing as he stood up, invigorated. It would take hours before he reached a space port where he had his ship. His self reflection had changed his hostile nature to a more subdued one, but still remained. He bartered with some merchants for some rations as well as some scrap parts. He left in his ship to one of the hideouts he had across the Outer Rim. Upon reaching the disguised entrance on the jungle planet he had built one of the hideouts, he quickly made his way inside. The reason he had chosen this planet was because of the danger it posed. While the wildlife would keep intruders away, it was also a burden for Maul. He made his way to his chambers, and sat at a table, laying out the broken saber pieces, a few pieces of spare parts he had, and the red kyber crystal. He sat meditating, as he had done before when creating a saber. He would need a weapon if he was going to bring about the destruction of his old master. He sat for hours, thinking about his life and his mistakes. His regrets and achievements came flooding to his attention. He was so tired of the bloodshed. Of the hate. But he would slay one more before he put up his saber for good. As he thought this, he clenched his fist together, bringing the new saber together, everything clicking into place. He sat for a moment, the picked up the new double bladed saber that was near identical to his original. The difference was it wasn’t as dark and bulky. It had a thinner handle with a silvery sheen, a more elegant weapon. Maul closed his eyes, recalling all the good deeds he had seen the Jedi perform, all their sacrifices. He remembered the strength and will of the Sith. He opened his eyes, no longer clouded with the angry orange of the Sith. They were now a more dull yellow. He slides his hand down the handle of his lightsaber, sensing the power both within it as well as the power he had within himself. Focusing that power into the blade, he ignited his weapon. Two glowing white blades form, filling the room with a brilliant light. Maul looks at his weapon, satisfied, and makes a silent pledge that he would be the one to strike down the lord of the Sith. He would kill Lord Sideous.
