Pablo Diserens (they/she) is a field recordist, musician, filmmaker, and artist devoted to attentive listening, non-human realities, and possible forms of interspecies coexistence. Rooted in ecological engagement and site-specificity, they investigate gestures of presence through a weaving of sound, images and texts. Dhangsha – Duplicity
Duplicity is central to the machinations of settler colonialism, hiding in plain sight - an insidious smile, unflinching and treacherous.
“Dhangsha” (Bengali for ‘destruction’) is the project and alias of electronic artist and educator Aniruddha Das. Working at the interface of bass culture and experimental noise, he creates a kind of "mutant dancehall" where distorted 'alien' motifs evolve over sparse but heavy beats. He explores minimalism, repetition and fragmentation, instigating turbulent interactions between rhythm and non-metric noise. Constantly absorbing the social and political vibrations of the world around him, he is both consciously and unconsciously engaged in a process of translating these in to physical frequencies. Aside from releasing a clutch of albums, including “Live at Spirit of Gravity” and “Aberrant,” the latter with label Hard Return, he has contributed to compilations by Iklectik, Syrphe, Avon Terror Corps and Industrial Coast. He is featured on the vinyl compilation “Disruptive Frequencies,” on Nonclassical.

Heavy Cloud – Studies made on a typewriter
‘Studies made on a typewriter’ was made during an extended period of weeks when I was suffering with a cervicogenic headache. A loop was created by layering tiny fragments of manipulated recordings from an open window late at night. This loop was processed through a range of delay effects as it was left to repeat with subtle variations. The title of the piece comes from Anni Albers’ ‘Studies made on the typewriter’ – a piece of typewriter art (date unknown) that became a visual simile to describe the heavy weight of textual noise I was feeling behind my eyes during this prolonged pain experience. The making of the piece, and subsequent listening to it, became part of the healing process. It was a way in which the abstract pain could be made less abstract. Upon listening, with eyes closed, visual patterns may become recognisable in the repetition, á la ambient noise wall – akin to recognising a legible word in an inky mesh of overlapping typewriter text printed on a piece of card.
Under the name Heavy Cloud, Cornwall-based Ryan Hooper creates music inspired by memory and landscapes, often in tandem with collage-based artworks and textual explorations.

Pietro Michi – Sonica
Sonica is a track created during my thesis period in the laboratory. I worked with various microorganisms, and many times, I had to use a sonicator to disrupt the cellular structure of these organisms.
According to Wikipedia:
"Sonication is the act of applying sound energy to agitate particles in a sample, for various purposes such as the extraction of multiple compounds from plants, microalgae and seaweeds.[1] Ultrasonic frequencies (> 20 kHz) are usually used, leading to the process also being known as ultrasonication or ultra-sonication.
In the laboratory, it is usually applied using an ultrasonic bath or an ultrasonic probe, colloquially known as a sonicator."
I combined the sound of regular pulses made by the sonicator, which I used to sonicate algae, with other sounds I created in the lab, including the vacuum machine, pipettors, and autoclaves. All the field recordings were made with just my smartphone, and the only interventions on the sound included EQ, Reverb, Cuts, and Granulators.
The track has a fairly didactic structure, featuring a repetitive series of impulses that progressively disintegrate until they break the membranes of the preceding sounds, releasing new microsounds.
Pietro Michi lives and works in Firenze, Italy, he studied agronomy and now is studying for a master in Biotechnology for environmental management and sustainable agriculture, but he is also interested in natural science, biology and ecology.
He started to work in the sound field around 2012 but begins to produce and publish after 2016 with many aliases, in the drone, noise and ambient field with his main project FossaDelRumore, and into the club, bass and deconstructed music as P I T. In 2017 he starts to work on the link between biology/ecology and sound/music and also to the concept of nature digitalization and founded an independent music label called "Biodiversità Records", which is still running.
