Marriage of Inconvenience
by Penny Reid

There are three things you need to know about Kat Tanner (aka Kathleen Tyson. . . and yes, she is *that* Kathleen Tyson): 1) She’s determined to make good decisions, 2) She must get married ASAP, and 3) She knows how to knit.

Being a billionaire heiress isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Determined to live a quiet life, Kat Tanner changed her identity years ago and eschewed her family’s legacy.

But now, Kat’s silver spoon past has finally caught up with her, and so have her youthful mistakes.

To avoid imminent disaster, she must marry immediately; it is essential that the person she chooses have no romantic feelings for her whatsoever and be completely trustworthy.

Fortunately, she knows exactly who to ask. Dan O’Malley checks all the boxes: single, romantically indifferent to her, completely trustworthy.

Sure, she might have a wee little crush on Dan the Security Man, but with clear rules, expectations, and a legally binding contract, Kat is certain she can make it through this debacle with her sanity—and heart—all in one piece.

Except, what happens when Dan O’Malley isn’t as indifferent—or as trustworthy—as she thought?

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book:Marriage of Inconvenience is the seventh book in Penny Reid’s Knitting in the City series, which is one of the best romance book series to read in my opinion.

Throughout the series, the chemistry between Kat and Dan is so palpable that by the time you get to this book you are just waiting for them to get together.

The impetus that finally brought them together was the perfect marriage of convenience story. Kat needs a husband to keep her family’s billion-dollar business and Dan readily agrees.

The difference in this marriage of convenience story is that both Kat and Dan secretly already harbor feelings for the other before they say I do, only they’ve both kept them secret due to a simple misunderstanding.

This was a fantastic book though I’d honestly recommend reading the whole series for the build-up!

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me
by Mariana Zapata

Vanessa Mazur knows she’s doing the right thing. She shouldn’t feel bad for quitting.

Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary.

She has plans and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary.

But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she’s beyond shocked.

For two years, the man known as The Wall of Winnipeg couldn’t find it in him to tell her good morning or congratulate her on her birthday. Now? He’s asking for the unthinkable.

What do you say to the man who is used to getting everything he wants?

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book:The Wall of Winnipeg and Me is a popular marriage of convenience story because it is such a great read!

Vanessa was the assistant to the best defensive end in football but she quit and is ready to pursue her dream career goals. Aiden, however, needs her to come back, not as his assistant but as his wife since his visa is about to expire and he’s at risk of deportation and ruining his career.

Like most Mariana Zapata books, this book is a slow burn romance with the love between both characters slowly developing as they make their way through their fake marriage.

And when I say slow, I mean this is literally a slow, slow burn but well worth the wait.

You Can Have Manhattan
by P. Dangelico

You are cordially invited to the worst wedding of the century.

Sydney Evans is no stranger to hard work. It’s the one constant in her life. And with no family or friends to speak of it’s been easy to pour everything she has into her career as general counsel for Blackstone Holdings.

She wants for nothing. Until her boss offers her a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. All she has to do in return is marry his good-for-nothing son.

Scott Blackstone used to be a party animal. He hasn’t been that guy in a long time though. Not since he moved to Wyoming, bought a failing cattle ranch, and turned it into a profitable business.

All is good. Until a phone call from his father threatens the quiet, simple life he’s built. Marry or lose everything. And to a woman who can’t stand him, no less.

Well, Scott is not going down without a fight. He’s never going back to Manhattan. Not if he can help it.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book:You Can Have Manhattan is a marriage of convenience story where both parties are going into the marriage begrudgingly and yet unable to say no the to crazy scheme.

Scott and Sydney are not strangers to one another and yet they haven’t seen each other for 8 years after one hot and heavy kiss.

Now they are thrown into a fake marriage thanks to Scott’s father that neither one wants but are forced to agree to for their own reasons.

This book made me feel and it made me laugh and it made me cry because you just get caught up in who these characters are, what they are feeling, what they are fighting, and ultimately what they are craving beyond a shadow of a doubt.

It was the best slow burn, marriage of convenience romance!

Marriage for One
by Ella Maise

Jack and I, we did everything backward. The day he lured me into his office-which was also the first day we met-he proposed.

You’d think a guy who looked like him-a bit cold maybe, but still striking and very unattainable-would only ask the love of his life to marry him, right? You’d think he must be madly in love. Nope.

It was me he asked. A complete stranger who had never even heard of him. A stranger who had been dumped by her fiancé only weeks before.

You’d think I’d laugh in his face, call him insane-and a few other names-then walk away as quickly as possible.

Well…I did all those things except the walking away part. It took him only minutes to talk me into a business deal…erm, I mean marriage, and only days for us to officially tie the knot.

Happiest day of my life. Magical. Pop the champagne… Not. It was the worst day. Jack Hawthorne was nothing like what I’d imagined for myself.

I blamed him for my lapse in judgment. I blamed his eyes, the ocean blue eyes that looked straight into mine unapologetically, and that frown on his face I had no idea I would become so fascinated with in time.

It wasn’t long after he said I was the biggest mistake of his life that things started to change. No, he still didn’t talk much, but anyone can string a few words together.

His actions spoke the loudest to me. And day after day my heart started to get a mind of its own.

One second he was no one. The next he became everything. One second he was unattainable. The next he seemed to be completely mine.

One second I thought we were in love. The next it was still nothing but a lie.

After all, I was Rose and he was Jack. We were doomed from the very beginning with those names. Did you expect anything else?

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book:This was my first Ella Maise book and it completely captivated me, becoming one of my list of the best romance novels of all time.

This marriage of convenience story began as a business transaction but soon became more despite secrets being kept that could derail it all.

Rose is desperate to open the coffee shop she’s always dreamed of having and a marriage to Jack appears to be the only way to make that happen.

Marriage for One was the perfect slow burn romance between two characters who just suck you in with their quiet confidence.

You can’t help but fall for both Rose and Jack and wish for their happily ever after.

Roomies
by Christina Lauren

Marriages of convenience are so…inconvenient. For months Holland Bakker has invented excuses to descend into the subway station near her apartment, drawn to the captivating music performed by her street musician crush.

Lacking the nerve to actually talk to the gorgeous stranger, fate steps in. Calvin Mcloughlin rescues her, but quickly disappears when the police start asking questions.

Using the only resource she has to pay the brilliant musician back, Holland gets Calvin an audition with her uncle, Broadway’s hottest musical director.

When the tryout goes better than even Holland could have imagined, Calvin is set for a great entry into Broadway—until his reason for disappearing earlier becomes clear: he’s in the country illegally, his student visa having expired years ago.

Seeing that her uncle needs Calvin as much as Calvin needs him, a wild idea takes hold of her. Impulsively, she marries the Irishman, her infatuation a secret only to him.

As their relationship evolves and Calvin becomes the darling of Broadway—in the middle of the theatrics and the acting-not-acting—will Holland and Calvin to realize that they both stopped pretending a long time ago?

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book:Roomies is one of my most favorite Christina Lauren books and one of my favorite romance books featuring musicians.

This is a marriage of convenience book where one of the participants secretly harbors a crush on the other. Holland fell in love with Calvin’s music and as fate would have it, she steps up to help him pursue a dream on Broadway by becoming his wife.

Fans of the movie Green Card will absolutely love this book. I love how they grew to know more about each other while prepping for their meetings with immigration.

This book is also set to become a movie with Christina Lauren to write the script so check it out!

Million Dollar Marriage
by Katy Evans

If someone had bet Nell a million dollars that she would be saying “I do” to a complete stranger on national television, she’d have called them crazy, but with her crushing student loan payments sending her deep into the red, she’s out of options.

This should be nothing more than a business transaction—until she sets eyes on her groom, and everything changes.

The game is on the instant Luke spots Penelope “Nell” Carpenter. He’s out for the money, yes, but getting a little dirty with Nell doesn’t sound too bad either.

Everyone knows he’s not the marrying kind, so it’s a good thing it’s just for show. God knows he’s the worst guy his pretty wife should pick for real.

They have nothing in common, but if they want the grand prize, they’ll have to beat out eight other couples.

Proving that total opposites attract should be easy enough…as long as they don’t fall in love in the process.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book:Million Dollar Marriage was such a fun and different marriage of convenience romance book!

Nell is deep into debt and decides to humor her best friend by auditioning for a reality show where she could have a chance to win half a million dollars.

The chance of her being picked were slim to none and yet the next thing she knows she’s on the show and marrying a fellow contestant who’s just as desperate for the chance to win the grand prize!

I loved following Luke and Nell on their adventures which were very similar to The Amazing Race.

They were complete opposites in every way but the more they kept winning and getting to know each other, the more their true feelings grew.

This was such a fun take on a marriage of convenience story making it well worth reading!

The Billionaire Bachelor
by Jessica Lemmon

Playboy. That’s what the board of directors-and the tabloids-thinks of billionaire bachelor Reese Crane. Ordinarily he couldn’t care less, but his playboy past is preventing the board from naming him CEO of Crane Hotels.

Nothing-and no one-will keep him from his life’s legacy. They want a settled man to lead the company? Then that’s exactly what he’ll give them.

Merina Van Heusen will do anything to get her parents’ funky boutique hotel back-even marry cold-as-ice-but-hot-as-heck Reese Crane.

It’s a simple business contract-six months of marriage, absolute secrecy, and the Van Heusen is all hers again.

But when sparks fly between them, their passion quickly moves from the boardroom to the bedroom. And soon Merina is living her worst nightmare: falling in love with her husband.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book:The Bachelor Billionaire is a romance where a marriage of convenience is pitched by a billionaire in need of a reputation makeover.

Reese needs to get in good graces with the Board of Directors of his family’s company to officially gain the title of CEO. Merina has no choice but to take him up on his offer to save her family’s hotel.

I love marriage of convenience books when both people are somewhat desperate for the arrangement and yet fall for each other in the process.

Plus, The Bachelor Billionaire is a romance between two very confident people who have chemistry and passion making this such a great read.

Bride
by Ali Hazelwood

Misery Lark, the only daughter of the most powerful Vampyre councilman of the Southwest, is an outcast—again.

Her days of living in anonymity among the Humans are over: she has been called upon to uphold a historic peacekeeping alliance between the Vampyres and their mortal enemies, the Weres, and she sees little choice but to surrender herself in the exchange—again…

Weres are ruthless and unpredictable, and their Alpha, Lowe Moreland, is no exception. He rules his pack with absolute authority, but not without justice.

And, unlike the Vampyre Council, not without feeling. It’s clear from the way he tracks Misery’s every movement that he doesn’t trust her. If only he knew how right he was….

Because Misery has her own reasons to agree to this marriage of convenience, reasons that have nothing to do with politics or alliances, and everything to do with theonly thing she’s ever cared about.

And she is willing to do whatever it takes to get back what’s hers, even if it means a life alone in Were territory…alone with the wolf.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book: I absolutely had so much fun sinking into Hazelwood’s world where Humans, Vampyres and Weres don’t mix. While Misery, the heroine, was already once a part of the Collateral system, she becomes a pawn yet again, agreeing to the marriage of convenience with Lowe.

It truly is one of the best slow burn romances between two people who were just honest with each other when they didn’t have to be. This was a five-star read for me and one I highly recommend, especially if you love this romance trope.

Electric Idol
by Katee Robert

Psyche knew she’d have to face Aphrodite’s ire eventually, but she never expected her literal heart to be at stake…or for Aphrodite’s gorgeous son to be the one ordered to strike the blow.

Eros has no problem getting his hands dirty. But when it comes time to take out his latest target, he can’t do it. Confused by his reaction to Psyche, he does the only thing he can think of to keep her safe: he marries her. As they try to find a way out of their mess, lines blur and loyalties shift and two hearts are at risk.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book: OMG I loved this book so much which was super steamy because the chemistry between Eros and Psyche was scorching hot!

Eros and Psyche get married to keep her from having to marry Zeus but more importantly to protect her life since Eros’s mother wants her gone. But Psyche was no pushover when literally faced with her own demise and I loved her for it.

She was such a strong, independent woman but couldn’t help falling for the monster. This is one of the best in the Neon Gods series and one that you should add to your TBR list.

The Duke I Tempted
by Scarlett Peckham

Having finally redeemed his family name, the Duke of Westmead now needs to produce an heir. Which means he must find a wife who won’t discover his secret craving to spend his nights on his knees.

Poppy Cavendish has never wanted to marry. Her only desire has been to build a successful botany business to keep her independence. But when her reputation is ruined, Westmead proposes a marriage of convenience which she cannot refuse.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book: I loved this historical erotic romance that instantly captivated me with its story, writing, and amazing characters.

Poppy is a fantastic, strong heroine who doesn’t shirk away at her attraction to Westmead. Westmead is a tortured hero hiding a secret that once out to his wife becomes a uniting interest instead of a divisive one.

I immediately had to devour more of Peckham’s work after reading this marriage of convenience book that was a wonderful slow burn love story as well.

Burn for You
by J.T. Geissinger

Jackson “The Beast” Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick’s New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fund-raiser, Bianca can’t refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother’s medical bills.

Then Jackson makes another outrageous request:Marry me.The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum—money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract—and a stunning ring.

The heir to a family bourbon dynasty, Jackson knows the rumors swirling around him. The truth is even darker. Still, he needs a wife to secure his inheritance, and free-spirited, sassy Bianca would play the part beautifully. Soon, though, their simple business deal evolves into an emotional intimacy he’s built walls to avoid.

As the passion heats up between them, Bianca and Jackson struggle to define which feelings are real and which are for show. Is falling for your fake fiancé the best happy ending…or a recipe for disaster?

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book: Let me tell you that Geissinger knows how to build a slow burn romance and boy does she do it right in this marriage of convenience book. I have a weakness for romance books with struggling heroes and Jackson, despite his hard exterior, is a man desperate for love and acceptance.

I loved how he and Bianca slowly become each other’s person when initially they were only out to earn money. This is one of my favorites that definitely deserves a spot on your TBR list.

Feral Sins
by Suzanne Wright

When female wolf shifter Taryn Warner first encounters Trey Coleman, an alpha male wolf shifter with a dangerous reputation, she’s determined to resist his charms. But Taryn finds herself drawn in by Trey’s forceful demeanor and arctic-blue eyes, and she eventually agrees to enter an uneasy alliance with him.

If the two succeed in convincing their respective packs that they’ve chosen each other as mates, Trey will win valuable political allies, while Taryn will escape an odious arranged mating.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book: If you love alpha males and sassy, sarcastic, strong heroines then you’ll love this werewolf romance even if you aren’t into paranormal romance.

This marriage of convenience book is more like a blending of two packs to ward off their common enemies. But let me tell you that they have no problems in the chemistry department where they are trying to fake it as mates. Alliance or no alliance, these two are destined to be together. It’s SO good!

Call Me Crazy
by Melanie Harlow

It was the perfect plan. I needed a wife–temporarily–in order to inherit the family business. And she needed a favor–the kind that takes nine months to deliver.

We had it all worked out, from the no-touching policy on our wedding night (her rule) to the no-falling-in-love decree (mine). She’d marry me, I’d give her the means to have the baby she’d always wanted, and one year later we’d amicably part ways with no hassle, no demands, and certainly no regrets.

After all, Bianca DeRossi and I are experts at infuriating one another–we’ve been doing it since we were kids. Trouble is, she grew up gorgeous and feisty, and she still knows exactly how to get under my skin. And that wedding night? Well, it doesn’t exactly go down hands-free.

Then she moves in with me, and I really start to lose my mind. From her sexy little pout to her wicked sense of humor to those meatball sandwiches she makes just because she knows they’re my favorite . . . I find myself wanting to break every rule we put in place.

Our story was never supposed to end with happily ever after. But call me crazy, I just might be in love with my wife.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book: This romance book that combines three of my most favorite romance book tropes so I knew that I was going to love it and I did. Melanie Harlow brought it with this third book in the Bellamy Creek series which I think is the best yet.

Enzo and Bianca had the best chemistry as enemies who agree to a fake relationship and then a marriage of convenience. This book at great story pacing and was just a delight to read.

Lush Money
by Angelina Lopez

A marriage of convenience and three nights a month. That’s all the sultry, self-made billionaire wants from the impoverished prince. And at the end of the year, she’ll grant him his divorce…with a settlement large enough to save his beloved kingdom.

As a Latinx woman, Roxanne Medina has conquered small-town bullies, Ivy League snobs and boardrooms full of men. She’s earned the right to mother a princess and feel a little less lonely at the top. The offer she’s made is more than generous, and when the contract’s fulfilled, they’ll both walk away with everything they’ve ever wanted.

Pr’ncipeMateo Ferdinand Juan Carlos de Esperanza y Santos is one of the top winegrowers in the world, and he’s not marrying and having a baby with a stranger. Even if the millions she’s offering could save his once-legendary wine-producing principality.

But the successful, single-minded beauty uses a weapon Prince Mateo hadn’t counted on: his own desire.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book: Lush Money has everything I enjoy about reading great romance. I loved how Mateo is disgusted by how willingly he agrees to Roxanne’s contract and yet he can’t help his attraction to her.

It’s a great dynamic to see play out through the pages. A great marriage of convenience book for those who love billionaire or royal romances!

The Pact
by Max Monroe

What started as a simple ride out of town became a marriage of convenience at a Vegas wedding chapel. But it’s not love—it’s business—a marriage pact made out of desperation so my career doesn’t go up in flames.

Sure, Flynn Winslow is a hot, broody, mysterious man that women all over the globe would sell their souls to land for real, but I have my eyes on the prize and our marriage arrangement will end in three months with no strings attached.

Or will it all go out the window when I have to move in with Mr. Mysterious and our fake marriage starts to feel remarkablyreal?

I wish it were as easy as telling myself,Donotfall in love with your fake husband, Daisy, but apparently, when feelings get involved, not everything that happens in Vegas knows how to stay in Vegas.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book: I have a definite soft spot for marriage of convenience books where a character needs to get married for a green card and this one didn’t disappoint.

I loved that Flynn is a quiet man but boy does he capture and hold your attention. Daisy didn’t stand a chance once she moved in with him to keep up the rouse. This is a great book in a great series!

Isn’t It Bromantic
by Lyssa Kay Adams

Elena Konnikova has lived her entire adult life in the shadows. As the daughter of a Russian journalist who mysteriously disappeared, she escaped danger the only way she knew how: She married her childhood friend, Vladimir, and moved to the United States, where he is a professional hockey player in Nashville.

He joined the Bromance Book Club to learn how to make his wife love him, but all he’s learned is that he deserves more. He’s ready to create his own sweeping romance—both on and off the page.

The bros are unwilling to let Vlad forgo true love—and this time they’re not operating solo. They join forces with Vlad’s neighbors, a group of meddling widows who call themselves the Loners. But just when things finally look promising, Elena’s past life intrudes and their happily ever after is cast into doubt.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book: This marriage of convenience book is a touching friends to lovers romance that can easily be read as a standalone if you haven’t read any of the other books in this series.

I liked the whole bromance angle between the male characters and found Vlad’s sensitive heart to be such an endearing part of this story.

The Villain
by L.J. Shen

Cillian Fitzpatrick has been dubbed every wicked thing on planet earth. To the media, he is The Villain. To me, he is the man who (reluctantly) saved my life. Now I need him to do me another, small solid. Bail me out of the mess my husband got me into.

What’s a hundred grand to one of the wealthiest men in America, anyway? Only Cillian doesn’t hand out free favors. The price for the money, it turns out, is my freedom.

Now I’m the eldest Fitzpatrick brother’s little toy. To play, to mold, to break. He thinks I’ll buckle under the weight of his mind games. He is about to find out the most lethal poison is also the sweetest.

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book: Time and time again L.J. Shen makes me fall for cold-hearted bastards and she does it again with one Cillian Fitzpatrick!

I loved how Persephone chipped away at his control and hard exterior from the start despite being his complete opposite. But being complete opposites made their chemistry sizzle and made a fantastic marriage of convenience love story.

It’s also always fun to see how authors put a modern twist on the Hades and Persephone story.

As the end of their arrangement looms, will Graham take a chance on love or let his darling walk away forever?

Why I Loved This Marriage of Convenience Book: Isla blends marriage of convenience with football romance whose football star had me thinking about the Damar Hamlin story.

Emmaline and Graham have an adorable meet cute in this one but then she ends up stealing his car which then lands her in the predicament to accept his marriage of convenience proposal so that he can get his inheritance.

These two both had baggage when it came to trusting their hearts and believing in happily-ever-afters but it was cute to see them open up to each other and ultimately fall for each other as man and wife.

Rooney Sullivan is sunshine incarnate and the antithesis of quiet, reserved Axel. He’s been able to hide his attraction to her until a party game gets out of hand and ends in an unexpected kiss. Months later, Rooney’s staying just next door to him for a cozy A-frame getaway and temptingly within reach.

But when Axel and Rooney unexpectedly find their paths—and problems—converging, marriage proves the perfect solution. At least, until they face a new dilemma: a marriage of convenience that’s inconveniently become a love match, after all.

Why I Recommend This Marriage of Convenience Book: There’s just something special about the Bergman Brothers series that I just adore but they can all be read as standalone reads including this one if you love opposites attract romances.

I love that Rooney and Axel secretly have feelings for one another but it takes a marriage of convenience for them to finally realize it!

Why I Recommend This Marriage of Convenience Book: Romance fans have been all OVER Asher’s Dreamland Billionaire series which is perfect if you love your heroes to be a bit grumpy or downright a$$holes.
